Your privacy is part of our service — just like the confidentiality of every document you entrust to us. Below we explain what personal data we collect, why we collect it and what your rights are, in accordance with the General Data Protection Regulation (GDPR).

What data we collect

• Contact form: full name, email address, phone number (optional), the content of your message and any document you attach.
• Direct communication: data you send us by email or phone when arranging a translation.

We do not collect data that is not needed to prepare a quote and deliver the service.

Purpose and legal basis

We process your data solely to respond to your inquiry, prepare a price and deadline estimate, and deliver the translation service. The legal basis is taking steps at your request prior to entering into a contract and the performance of that contract (Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR), and our legitimate interest in responding to business inquiries (Art. 6(1)(f)).

Confidentiality of documents

We treat every text, as well as personal and business data contained in documents, as strictly confidential. Documents are accessed exclusively by the translator, and we sign a Non-Disclosure Agreement (NDA) upon request. The same duty of confidentiality follows from the status of an authorised sworn translator.

How long we keep data

Inquiry data is kept for the duration of communication about the project. Data related to delivered services is kept for the periods required by tax and accounting regulations. Documents received for a quote where no engagement followed are deleted at your request or after a reasonable period.

Who has access to your data

We do not sell or share your data with third parties for marketing purposes. Access may be granted to providers of technical services necessary for running this website (hosting, email service) and to competent authorities where required by law.

Your rights

You have the right to access your data at any time, and to rectification, erasure, restriction of processing, objection and data portability. Send your request to info@romanica.eu. If you believe the processing does not comply with the regulations, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Croatian Personal Data Protection Agency (AZOP, azop.hr).
